Accessibility at St Nectan’s Glen
St Nectan’s Glen is a beautiful Temperate Rainforest site with a waterfall, walking routes, and historical features. Due to the steep and uneven terrain, the path leading to the waterfall is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, and those with mobility difficulties may find access challenging. The woodland walk from our car park on the B3263 is approximately a mile and includes natural and man-made steps, as well as areas of mud, tree roots, and stones.

At present, we are unable to introduce ramps or make significant structural adjustments to the path due to the woodland nature of the site, but we remain committed to improving accessibility wherever practicably possible.
AccessAble carried out an independent accessibility review of St Nectan’s Glen. The report recognises that our landscape includes natural steps, slopes, and elevation changes, and that access to the waterfall area, river level, café and shop all involve stepped routes.
The review highlights where accessibility features are present, where adaptations are not feasible due to the natural terrain, and where improvements may be possible in future as part of ongoing site care. It also provides best‑practice guidance for facilities such as entrances, seating, circulation spaces, and customer service areas.
Visitors with mobility needs are encouraged to review the full report and our Accessibility page before visiting, as some routes may be challenging.
